Fran Hinton | Private and Small Group Pilates Training
Fran Hinton began her journey in yoga in 1965 and has trained in various styles of hatha yoga and meditation, studying in Canada and South Africa, which included the following styles: Igyengar, Sivinanda, Yogafit, Anusara Yoga, Anusara Yoga Therapy, Tibetan Heart Yoga and Yin Yoga.
Because of her own ongoing back issues, Fran began practicing the Pilates method in 1997 and received her teaching certifications through The PhysicalMind Institute (twice in mat training) and Balanced Body University in mat and apparatus.
She currently audits other methods of Pilates mat teacher training, attends workshops on Pilates rehab methods, mentors students and continues her training on other studio apparatus equipment.
Fran first became a certified fitness instructor in 1977 and in 2001 she became a BCRPA Group Fitness Leader, teaching cardio, toning and body ball classes.
As student for life, she continues to study under master teachers in both yoga and Pilates, and under the physiotherapy and chiropractor community to enable her to teach all classes safely, including students with osteoporosis, arthritis and recovering from back issues.
Fran’s current passions are yoga and Pilates (mat and apparatus). She loves to teach and believes that no matter what you do in life, it should always be from a compassionate and joyful heart.
