Vancouver Island Race
Congratulations to all the swim participants that completed the challenge and reached their goals. Three lucky (and deserving) participants have been drawn randomly to win $100 dining gift certificate at Coast Seafood Restaurant:
- Phillip Ireland swam 28,000 meters and his goal was 15,000 meters (Winter Harbor)
- Laura Maclean swam 36,000 meters and her goal was 20,000 meters (Kyrquot)
- Jo-Anne Merrell swam 28,000 meters and her goal was 10,000 meters (Port McNeill)

From July 19 - August 13 all lap swimmers and AquaFit participants are invited to join our Vancouver Island Race! Set a goal to swim to various points of Vancouver Island or finish the race by swimming around the entire Island.
Record the distance of your swim workouts daily and watch your fish move along the map. Participants that achieved their goal will be placed in a draw for one of the three fine dining gift certificates at Coast Seafood Restaurant, valued at $100 each.
Rules & regulation:
- A log book will be next to the Guard room on the pool deck for you to track your workout, starting July 19th
- The Map will be updated every Friday
- 1 Aquafit class or an individual workout of at least 30 minutes is equal to 2000m
- Only swims or water workouts at the YWCA pool are valid
- Multiple workouts per day are permitted
